Herndon, VA – June 4, 2013 – UNICOM Government, Inc.’s (UGI) employees were recently recognized by UNICOM Global Founder, President and CEO, Mr. Corry Hong for successfully completing sales and technical certifications for IBM products at a ceremony held at UNICOM Government’s headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.
In addition to rebranding and re-launching the division as UNICOM Government (formally NASDAQ: GTSI), Mr. Hong directed the intensive pursuit of qualifications for IBM products shortly after UNICOM Global’s acquisition of GTSI Corp. in 2012. Over the course of a few months, 131 total certifications were attained by a broad range of sales and technical personnel at UGI on IBM products including IBM Power7, IBM PureFlex, IBM PowerLinux and IBM Storage.
Ms. Christina Newberry, Lead Technical Analyst
“It is important that these significant accomplishments by dedicated UNICOM Government employees be recognized company-wide as their efforts reaffirm UNICOM Global’s commitment to the IBM business partner channel,” said Mr. Hong. “UNICOM Global has a rich, 32 year history of partnership with IBM. I am very proud of the hard work and enthusiasm by our employees in attaining these certifications and it was my great pleasure to personally recognize their efforts 131 times.”
The technical certifications continue the expansion of UGI’s capabilities and builds on the May 23, 2013 Announcement of UGI’s approval as an IBM Business Partner Solution Provider. The new agreement between UGI and IBM enables UGI to deliver a broad range of IBM solutions to federal, state and local government agencies. UNICOM Global is continuing the investment and effort to broaden its offerings of IBM zEnterprise, IBM Power7 and IBM PureFlex technology directly to Fortune 500, Global 2000 and US Government agencies.
